SUMMARY:BGES-BAST Abdominal Cadaver Course 2023 - Upper GI
DESCRIPTION:BGES-BAST ABDOMINAL CADAVER COURSE 2023 \n\nCourse Objectives \nMinimally invasive surgery is increasingly implemented in surgical centers all over Belgium. However\, residents often lack the opportunity to perform advanced procedures. This course is intended to provide hands-on training on the most common advanced minimally invasive surgical procedures in the field of abdominal surgery. A faculty of experienced minimally invasive surgeons will guide you through the advantages and pitfalls of these procedures. The hands-on training in human cadavers will offer the trainees the opportunity to “rehearse” these procedures in the presence of experienced supporting teachers. Every participant will be able to perform at least one procedure in a human cadaver as a first surgeon. Residents can choose to participate in an upper GI course (1st June 2023) or lower GI (2nd June 2023)\, or both. \n  \nProgram \n1st June 2023: Upper GI (Nissen\, Toupet\, Sleeve\, Gastric bypass) \n2nd June 2023: Lower GI (Right and left hemicolectomy\, transversum\, TME) \n8u30-9u15: Welcome + short theoretical presentation \n9u30 – 12u30: Cadaver workshop \n12u30 – 13u30: lunch \n13u30 – 16u30: Cadaver workshop \n16u30 – 17u00: Q&A \nFaculty: Dr. H.
