SUMMARY:BGES/BAST Alexis Buggenhout Video Competition
DESCRIPTION:!!! CALL FOR ABSTRACT !!!\nDear Colleagues and surgical trainees\, \nThe Monday Video Session needs little introduction. This year’s edition\, the BGES/BAST Alexis Buggenhout Video Competition\, will be\nheld online on Monday\, November 30th\, 2026\, at 8 p.m.\, and we are inviting submissions for the five video presentations that will\nmake up the programme. We are looking for videos of laparoscopic\, robotic\, endoscopic and other procedures that carry genuine clinical\ninterest: a novel technique\, an original approach to a difficult problem\, or the management of an unusual intraoperative situation.\nRecordings of standard procedures will not be considered. \nAbstracts of no more than 300 words should state the clinical setting\, the procedure and what the video demonstrates\, and be sent to\nbartsmet@outlook.com before midnight on November 15th\, 2026\, together with the name\, training year and institution of the\npresenting trainee. Selected candidates will be notified by November 19th. The connection link will be sent by email to all registered\nparticipants during the week before the session. \nPresentations must be given live by a trainee\, in English\, and must not exceed fifteen minutes including discussion. Each will be\ngraded on a five-point system covering the PowerPoint\, the video\, the presentation\, the quality of the subject and the handling of\nquestions. Money prizes will be awarded to the two best presentations\, and for the first time this year the results will be published the \nmorning after the session on the official BGES website\, https://bges.odoo.com/. \nWe encourage all trainees with a video worth sharing to submit\, and we look forward to an evening that is\, as always\, both stimulating\nand educational. DESCRIPTION:Also this year\, BAST is proud to organize the BAST Anatomy Cadaver Course for the fifth consecutive year! \nThis unique course gives surgical trainees the opportunity to dive deep into human anatomy and gain hands-on experience in thoracic\, cardiac and abdominal surgery.
