On friday the 24th may 2018, the 3rd ETCA (Endoscopic Training Centre Antwerp) event is scheduled for general surgery residents. It’s aimed at junior residents in general surgery. 8 laparoscopic towers will be available, as well as 2 flexible endoscopy stations. In this course, the basics of laparoscopy will be taught, complemented by a hands-on course with focus on laparoscopic sewing and triangulation. On top of that, you’ll be able to try out the flexible endoscope and use it on a pig stomach. An initiation of endoluminal stitching with the flexible endoscope will be provided.
Registration is free for surgical residents. E-mail at email@example.com and please do so before may 8th 2019.
Location: “zaal de Maeyer”, ZNA Stuivenberg Antwerp. (B1 – take the entrance to the right and then to the first floor.)
Lunch will be provided.
Course starts at 9:15 sharp and will focus on basic endoscopic operations. We will go over each organ system in short segments of 30 minutes (colorectal, hepatobiliary, pediatrics, bariatrics,…), as well as some new developments in endoscopy (minilaparoscopy/flexible endoscopy).
In the afternoon, a hands-on training will teach you some laparoscopic sewing skills, as well as the opportunity of trying out the flexible endoscope.
